After the deploy
Close out the deploy and keep the tracker as the record.
The audit log
Once turned on, the Audit log tab records every edit: when, who, the tab, the row, the field, and the old and new values. Only DeployLogs adds rows to it; an edit to the log itself is logged too.
Google shares the editor's email when you are both in the same Google Workspace organisation. The old value is kept when one cell changes at a time.
Close out
- Make sure every step, test and gate has its final value.
- Choose Extensions > DeployLogs > Close out the deploy, then Close out.
- Every tab is locked for good. Overview shows who closed it out and when.
Close out has no Unlock. Afterwards, only the person who closed it out and the spreadsheet owner can change anything, and the Audit log and version history show any change.
Keep it
Keep the spreadsheet with the project. It answers the questions that come later: what changed, in what order, who ran each step, who signed off, and how long it really took.
Next time
Start the next deploy in a new spreadsheet. Use this one's actual hours as the starting point for the next set of estimates.
